We published a small portfolio of Margaret’s dog paintings in 2002 along with the following note: Margaret von Biesen lives in Los Angeles. For the last twenty years she has focused her energies on painting, but she has also worked as a photographer. Her expressive dog paintings are widely commissioned and collected on both coasts. In 1998-99 von Biesen painted facsimiles of Lee Krasner’s paintings for the film, “Pollock.” And for years Margaret did a lot of photography in the theater world in L.A.
Looking through back issues, I just discovered (April 2019) that I’d never posted these photos from issue #6. I hadn’t been in touch with her since 2002, but 20 minutes after a quick Google search, I found myself on the phone with her, an unexpected delight.
