With very few exceptions, the theme for each issue has emerged after most of the content has been collected as, at the beginning of a new issue, typically, I have only two or three pieces I feel sure about including. Each issue has always an adventure this way - almost a blank canvas to begin with. And always, looking back once an issue is finished, I see connections that have appeared as if guided by an unseen hand. - rw
